Paying Respects

When living in the Washington, D.C. metro area, you are easily reminded of our country’s history and the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers through the numerous memorials found here.  For the past 5 years, the CrossFit community has hosted the Fight Gone Bad Fundraiser.  The purpose of this worldwide event is to raise money for some amazing charities, including the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and Camp Patriot.  Additionally, this year, Fight Gone Bad has a goal to provide college scholarships to 31 children who lost their fathers in an August 6 helicopter crash in Afghanistan.  Over 2 million dollars has been raised this year and on September 24 Potomac CrossFit will bring their athletes together to complete the workout for this amazing fundraiser.

In the spirit of this event, I visited Arlington National Cemetery to pay my respects to all of the soldiers who have fought for our country.
