10 Years Later

The Pentagon Memorial is amazing to view at night, so on the eve of the 10 year anniversary of 9.11, I walked over to capture some images.  The memorial honors the 184 people whose lives were lost at the Pentagon and on American Airlines flight 77.  It consists of 184 benches, which contain a lit pool of flowing water underneath. 85 Maple trees were planted throughout the grounds and though they are only about 10 feet now, they will grow upwards of  30 feet.  Julie Beckman and Keith Kasman designed the memorial and in my opinion, it’s one of the most impressive sites in the DC metro area.
